Upsize question

has anyone upsized access 2007 to sqlserver 2008 express?
I keep getting this error:

The Upsizing Wizard only works with Microsoft SQL Server (Versions 6.50 SP5 or higher). Please log in to a SQL Server data source.

I have read that I should be using SQL Migration Assistant for Access, or SSMA.

My main concern is that my relationships remain when I upsize.

It's is highly likely that a 2007 product doesn't support at 2008 product, I wouldn't bother with the upsizing wizard anyway...it never does a good job imo.

Why are you so concerned about the relationships? they can always be re-created if they are dropped

Thank you for your response,
I was successful in migrating to sql server express 2008 with ssma.
Although it looks like the relationships did not carry over.
I wanted them to carry over because I am new to sql server and its not like access where you can use the lookup wizard to join tables.
There is a learning curve that I will have to deal with.

Yeah it's probably best you have the learning curve now rather than later, you're going to have to learn it at some stage anyway.

If you want an easy way of creating relationships in the GUI then create a database diagram and create the relationships there, which will create actual relationships in your database
