Wait, were you hired as a data entry operator?

If that's case, then your boss is an asshole, and you definitely shouldn't be working- tell him he wants a database programmer, not a data entry operator.

Banana is spot on about the boss. IMO you have had some of the finest Access programmers (and avatars ;)) I've ever seen already participating in this thread, and if they're saying this is beyond the scope of what you can do as a newbie then that's the stone cold reality.

Databases are weird in some ways: what seems fairly simple and straight forward can be bloody difficult (access was never designed as a word processor) but it can make extraordinarily complex things seem easy (if used correctly).

So maybe you should try asking your boss to show you /how/ to do it, because you don't know how and all the experts you know and have asked about it, have said that the database needs to be modified to make it happen. But the burden back on him. If you want, I'll PM you my work phone number and you can have him call me direct and I'd be happy to 'educate' him.

I second that motion. All in favor say aye.

Which motion? And I use both ayes

Your best bet is to tell the boss the truth - the db design sucks!
Doctors doing database management looks the same as lawyers doing math.

What's a liter?;)

A Litre (here in Aus) is the modern equivalent of a gallon. (About 4.5 lt to the gallon)

Just because a litre is only about 20% of a gallon, don't expect the price to be.

Surprise surprise
