Hi,

I am after some advise / assistance on a task i am about to start.

Amonst many other text boxes etc on a form, i will have 2 list boxes and a text box. The user will make a selection from each list box and dependent on those selections, a single letter will be automatically put in the text box. In addition, the background colour of this text will change dependent on the selection.

If you look at the attachment, it will hopefully make more sense. For example if the user choose Choice 1/Selection 1, a 'A' will be placed in the text box and the background colour will change to red. If they selected Choice 5 / Selection 3, a 'D' will be placed in the text box and the background will change to, in this case, a blue.

What is the best way to approach this task please. Most tasks i have taken on i have managed to figure most of it out myself but this seems to have me stumped.

Any assistance most welcome.

Regards

Alan

Couple of ideas, depending on how many options there are and how dynamic they are. If just a few and they don't change, a "2-deep" SELECT/CASE structure:
Code:
Select Case FirstOne
  Case 1
    SELECT Case SecondOne
      Case 1
      ...
      Case 2
      ...
  Case 2
      ...

More choices or more dynamic, store it in a table and look it up:

Code:
FirstOne SecondOne Letter
   1 1 A
   1 2 A
...
   4 2 C
