Username issues

Hi all

I am currently trying to create a form that will have the ability to show the last person that edited that form and the time and date that it was last modified. When I try though I just keep getting the field to update to me just by viewing it. Can anyone give me a fairly detailed way of doing this?

how are you writing the info back. if you save the edit details details within a before update event, just reading the record won't change it.

Are you sure that your on current code doesn't actually change something on the record, forcing an update.

I think it my actual code that is wrong. I am using set value.

Then in the item in this case:

[Forms]![Suppliers]![Time Modified]

and the expression:

Time()

with the username replace [TimeModified] with username field and the expression with UserName()

I think that I have done something wrong here?
