I'm trying to use a form to carry out and display search results. I want to type in a persons surname and the record from a table (already setup) to be displayed as fields on the form.
Can anyone help?

Create your form based on the table. Then create a Combo Box using the Wizard and select the third item on the first screen, "Find a record....". When you have finished you can select the surname from the Combo box and the correct record will be displayed on your form.

Thnaks for that - but thats not really what I want to do.
I've seen it done a different way using subforms - do you know how to do this?

Open the Northwinds database that comes with Access and look at the Orders form to see an example of a form/subform.

I'm using access 2000 and I don't have that file. Could you give me the main points on how to set up the search facility?
