Using a Long Date in a report

I have a text box in one of my reports that I would like to have in a Long Date format. Right now, it gets it's info from a text box on a form like so:

report text box = CDate(Forms!frmApplicationReports!txtStartDate) & " to " & CDate(Forms!frmApplicationReports!txtEndDate)

The date being sent to the form is in the format mm/dd/yy. When I use the CDate() function, the form changes to mm/dd/yyyy. I have tried to change the properties of the text box on the report to show as Long Date, but it is still showing up as mm/dd/yy. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks is advance.

The textbox format won't work because you're not placing a date there, you're placing a concatenated string. Try this:

Format(CDate(Forms!frmApplicationReports!txtStartDate), "Long date") & " to " & Format(CDate(Forms!frmApplicationReports!txtEndDate), "Long date")
