Validate presence of text in field

Hi,

hopefully there is just a quick and easy anser to this.

If a have a table with multiple fields but i have two particlaur fields where i want to have a rule that will only allow me to put a value in one field or the other.

I thought i would be able to do this through the table properties but i cant seem to do it.

Any ideas grateful.

It's best you do it on form level. You would use VBA (i.e. code) to set the condition on the BEFORE_UPDATE event of those two text boxes that will be linked to those fields.

([Field1] Is Null) XOR ([Field2] Is Null)

It's not really advisable to do it in your table. You can get greater flexibility on the form.
