If I wanted to place a validation rule on a table for ISBN with the typical format being 0-12-11111-9 how would I go about setting this rule in my table design?

I think this might work.
If you go to ISBN field in the design view of its table then in the Format line in field properties enter @-@@-@@@@@-@

Re-reading your question its not clear to what exactly your asking for, sorry, but i hope that helps, if your asking "where" do you enter validation rules, you simply enter it under Validation Rule for ISBN field properties. If your asking how do you have the format as stated above, then refer to my first comment
