I am validating strings using the code avaliable http://support.microsoft.com/dessfault.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;114554#appliesto

Yet I am encountering the following problems:

(1) Space or empty fields
================

I tried to change the code slightly to allow empty fields, by setting the IsAlpha flag of empty fields to True.

However, apparently the system does not enter in the validation code when field is empty and an A(N) Type mismatch error occurs.

How can can we prevent this error from appearing. I have tried with the use of a normal error handling procedure, however since as already stated when left blank the computer does not pass through the validation code.

(2) Error messages if valdiation test fails
=========================

I created my Msgbox for errors occuring to through invalid inputs. How can I remove the automated Access Inbuilt Errors.

If you know what control is wacked out, post the validtation string you are using in it.

Its just the validation of a textbox which contains a field which contains only letters, but can be left blank. It should have no numbers / symbols.
