Hi there,
I have been researching for a few days for the best method to do this. I have been tasked to build a database system for colleagues in the USA (I work from the UK).
I have the back-end database which has been encrypted as it will contain customer information. Then i have two "portals" which are front ends designed in Access and converted to accde's. Currently they are manually linked, but i would like to create an autoexec macro that will open a text file in a given location in this case C:\Users\Public\Tech\ then link to the tables to the front end from the database location that is stored in the textfile.
Reason behind the textfile is to allow the database file to be changed with ease by anyone with no coding experience.
Look forward to reading your suggestions.
