Hi
Access 2007 using 2003 format .mdb.
I have just split my database (Had years of running whole replicated DB).
BE is on same PC & folder as FE. I do have replicas on LAN.
For a variety of reason still wanted replicated BE.
However when opening forms with lots of data & fairly complicated controls it is now very slow, what took ½ second takes 4+ seconds to load completely.
If the BE is not replicated it is a fast as before.
Did some simple testing on the 3 tips that seems to be out there:-
1) table properties\subdatasheetname = None (on main tables but not all) which did not seem to help.
2) options\NameAutoCorrect . The latter did not seem to help & not really understanding what it did I put setting back - This screwed all my forms, lots of links & controls disappeared, Don't know what happened but went back to my backup & now scared of this!
3)I have always had perminant links open to the tables anyway, I have a number of forms that are constantly open & I just switch between
From what I read these tips may be more related to the older Versions of Access.
It use to be fast when the whole DB was replicated & is fine if just a linked table without replication so see no reason for it to not to be as or very nearly as quick as before.
Any advise
Thanks I/A.
