hi guys

i' ve recently created a product database for the company using access and i would like to know how most people distribute their work for the employees to use.

I have the following questions

Is most of the time all employees computer have access installed so they could use it from their desk. (do not have licenses for access for all stations yet)

everytime any changes to the database, how to ensure all the workstations has the updated file and who does the update work.

(eg. if the employees copy the file from the server and overwrite their existing file on their computers???)

Was wondering if its legal to launch a remote server and have employees connect to a specific computer and use the database so i only need copyright for that only computer. Moreover, employees would not have to worry about doing any updates since admin is responsible and everyone is sharing the database from the only source.

thank you

It isn't "copyrights" it is LICENSES.

You should have a frontend/backend set up where the frontend is on each users computer linked to the backend (data tables) on the server.

See here for more about that:

You can use an auto updater by Tony Toews (pronounced like SAVES but with a T) or Bob Larson to be able to have a master copy that someone works on and makes changes to and then when they change the version number it updates automatically for the users.

See here for Bob's tool:
