What does SKOL mean?

I had an appointment with someone and I texted them this morning that I'd be unable to meet with them due to specific circumstances.
They responded with just one 'word': SKOL

What in the world does this mean? Hopefully the context I gave you helps.

Was there not a Skol larger a few years ago? It was sold inferring it was Danish, or Scandinavian larger.
I think brewed in Scotland and as we all know, the Scots have never made a decent beer. They do whiskey and claim it is unique but just about every country now makes the stuff now. Some outselling the Scotch, after all it's not as if it takes any great knowledge, or skill.

I would hazard a guess that the Australian term, "skull", meaning to down a whole drink in one action, came from the same root.
