It's the simplest query, but access won't oblige.

One field has either no entry for records, IsNull - it remains blank, in other words - or it contains the word "yes".

I want the query to produce everything except "yes". But access won't oblige with Not "yes", Not Like "yes", nor <>"yes".

I must be doing something wrong, but I can't think what it is.

What sort of field is it?

If it's a Yes/No field; try either True or -1 instead of Yes.

That's it, that's got it. Sorry, craftsmen, must be August or something in the air. Thanks very much for guidance.

Kupe,

Will it ever hold anything other than a Null value or 'Yes'?

If not have you tried using:

Is Null or ""

I use this to catch null values and zero length strings, it can be easy to have either sometimes,

Let me know

Thanks, sparhawk83, I'll remember that one. I think I was using IsNull without a space between. Well, I'm not sure what it was (because I can't think why I wouldn't have used two words) - except that nothing would work at the moment it was needed. Now with Is Null as two words, all works very happily, naturally.
