Where to get the Access 2003 Developer Extensions?

I forked out nearly £600 for Visual Studio.NET Professional Special Edtion, which was advertised as coming with the Visual Studio Tools for Microsoft Office. Which it did. I checked the Microsoft site and they advertised the VSTO as coming with the Access Developer Extensions, so I went ahead with the purchase.

Now I've since found out that the Access Developer Extensions are yet again separate from all this, so I will have to spend more money. That annoys me but I can live with it (I've no choice really), but where can I purchase the Access Developer Extensions CD? I have scoured the web and haven't found a single source, but apparently it does exist. As an additional note, I am based in the UK.

I bought the 2003 "Developer kit" about a year ago for about £70! At the time it was a nightmare trying to understand which software came with what and what you needed to make things work together (I had Office 2000 and stupidly thought the "Developer" part would work with it; it won't: I needed Office 2003 as well!). I thought at the time that uSoft were doing their best to make life as hard for their customers as possible. None of the sellers of such software had a clue either, so it's not just me.

With this in mind and trying to answer your question, I had a look around to try to find what I had bought; everything has changed...yet again!!! As you are saying, everything now seems to be linked to .net and is loads more expensive.

The only thing I can suggest is to keep an eye on ebay to see if someone has what I have, for sale. It should only be about £35 second hand, a much more reasonable price for what you actually want!

No, it is a legit copy and not educational and I bought it through my place of work's official software distributer. But your comments shows EXACTLY what I meant about the dreadful confusion uSoft has made over these related bits of software. When I was trying to track it down I did indeed find "it" for sale at about £400 UK and, apparently, the same software for the £70. Both had identical names.

I THINK, that the £400 one came with Office 2003 Prof, but the £70 most certainly did not! As I was using Office 2000 at the time, I then had to buy (again through work) Office 2003 Prof (about £300). Thus, added together I did indeed spend about £400. The confusion is having two different bits of kit having the same name.

If smickell only wants the "Access Developer" bit he only needs the £70 version, which unfortunately I have not been able to track down now.

He is also correct in that it is on a single CD (which I hold in my hand!), the other parts of "my" Developer kit has SQL Server (from which I am try to learn more, hence my posts on SQL Server for those interested (!) in my posts here.)

Sorry for the long delay in replying.
Skeletal - if you every fancy selling on your copy, you know where to turn Is it possible for you to reveal who your work's software distributor is? This would be greatly appreciated, even if you were to purchase one and sell it on at an increased margin this would not be a problem.

I have been continuously tracking eBay with no success. Pricing is not an issue as I will pay whatever amount necessary to get it (after getting nothing for £600 it doesn't make much difference now).

Visual Studio has recently released a new bundle called Visual Studio .NET 2003 Professional Special Edition. This bundle does not include the Access Developer's Extensions. There has been some confusion around this as it does include the VS Add-in for Excel and Word and the marketing pages mention Visual Studio Tools for Office, but they mean the VS Add-ins, not the full VSTO box.
