Where to start with Charts/Graphs?

Not sure where this should be asked;

I would like to produce graphs which compare 3 or 4 figures based on selected periods. eg. compare figures a, b and c for 01/01/2002 to 30/03/2002 with figures a, b and c for 01/01/2003 to 30/30/2003. I would like these on the same graph so a side by side comparison can be done.

The dates are variable and I would want them to selectable using a form.(if there is a better way then I would use it!)

The data which I require is calculated using a query which has two linked tables as it's data source. I'm just using the simple 'Sum' and 'Count' facilty in the Query grid.

I also wondered how it's possible to include more than 2 data series in the report/graph. Suppose we wanted to compare the last 5 years on the same graph, I have no idea where to start with this!? Would I be better using Excel, or stick with Access which I'm more familiar with?

Any guidance here would be great,

Use the chart wizard in form design view, to display multiple years just use a totals query and Group by the Year.
