What makes access create an illegal operation.

randomly, through out the database when I click on a button, or view design modeof a form or anything of that sort, it will sometimes just shut down and get a illegal operation.

Since this is XP, I get the "would you like to send a report to microsoft"

Ive gotten this message AT LEAST 10 times today within 4 hours time frame.

What the hell causes this? Is it just me?

Yes and No

Yes because you're using access...it always sucks.

No because it happens to everyone...Ive gotten the notorious
"Disk or network error"
"Invalid memory at address 0xxx0x0e"
"Database is corrupt"
"MS Access has performed an illegal activity"

As for the XP message you can get rid of those so that it does not bug you about sending reports. Right click on my computer and goto properties. Its in there somewhere..just check off the radio button that says do not send status reports to twats.

Talk about opposite points of view, Java. I feel like Siskel and Ebert :)

PS, I know one of them died but I can't remember which one or who the replacement was.

You know me with this stuff...
If I havent said it once I havent said it a 1000 times...
access is too buggy!!! development team at access needs to really sit down and sort through these issues. Its stupid anyone has to open a new db and import / export objects into it. very tedious...very error prone...very BAD.

Access is downright bad.
Sure its simple..purdy..reports..ohh lal lalal it can do this and it can do that. Plain and simple it sucks :).

By the way the option to turn off error reporting is under the System applet in the control panel. Select the advanced tab and choose error reporting. Once that is opend up you can disable the "feature" there.

I give this reply one thumb up. :D
