I'm hoping for an explanation as to why a multi-user database should be split. I can understand the why if you're making changes to the forms. I currently have a databse that is used by no more than 5 or 6 users at a time. I've setup user groups/names and have a screen where I can see who is logged in, an audit form to track who makes what changes (thanks to Allen Browne's examples) and a timer to log them out after x minutes of inactivity.
I'm looking into splitting and am just hoping for a clear explanation of the benefits and/or hazards of splitting versus everyone logging into the same mdb file.
Thanks,
Michael
