Hi

Ever since I ran Windows 7 service pack 2 all my Microsoft Office icons for my files in folders and short cut icons on desk top are all white. Anyone got any suggestions as to what is wrong:confused:

Well, considering that the Windows 7 Service Packs only go up to 1, if you installed Service Pack 2, then it was bogus from somewhere and that could be a problem. But assuming you meant Service Pack 1, then I would say that is something I have not seen, nor heard of. So rebooting doesn't help?

Sorry Bob I did mean service pack 1. The strange thing is if I email a file to another computer it shows the correct icon on the computer receiving the file

Okay, see if this helps. I don't have Windows 7 here at work (on XP still) so this is off of memory (which isn't all it used to be) -

Open a Windows Explorer Window (Windows Key + E)

And then go to ORGANIZE > FOLDER OPTIONS > VIEW

and there should be a RESTORE FOLDER DEFAULTS Button.

When you double click them, do they still open appropriately in the correct program without needing additional input from you?

Then it sounds more like an icon issue. Is it just the Office files and shortcuts that have lost their icon or is it tied to others as well?
