:banghead:Hi,

I am struggling with an issue with my access front end. On most of my computers, everything is fine. When the front end is used on windows 8.1 OS, controls change size and appear as of the border is actually smaller then the control, etc. Based on another post in this forum, I turned off windows theme but that didn't resolve the issue, only disable some dropdowns. I noticed searching elsewhere that this may be a dpi setting issue outside of my control.

The implication is that if you have users using your db on windows 8, you may have the same issue. I have not found a fix for this and would value any input here.

Thanks

Ok, I did some experimenting and here's what is happening. Windows 8.1 has a magnifier setting (Control Panel>Display) that defaults to 125%, which, for those of us with custom controls on our forms, means that our forms will appear funny, out of alignment, disproportional, until your user resets this magnifier to 100%. I believe it is set to 125% as part of the windows 8.1 theme (Mobile Computer). Not sure if this also occurs on Windows 8. However, I wanted to share what I found in case you wanted to know about it.

Also, any ideas on how to address with the users? Is there a better way to design the control so that a form won't look funky regardless of magnifier setting?

Thanks
