No matter how small my material is on my pages, a second blank pages is beneath it. I have checked every setting I can think of. Anybody know how to straighten it out. Goggling it hasn't come up with anything.

Sounds like the normal.dotm template has been saved with two pages.

The templates are usually located in the folder specified under File Location in Word Options. I don't have 2013 so I don't know where you will see that.

Thanks that is what happens. I download a letter from someone else and it was on two pages.

Your Normal.dot(m) template file is located C:\Users\"YourUserName"\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates

Edit this with care. if you just delete the second page you should not have problems.
The (m) suffix is placed there if there are macros attached to you Normal template.

maybe you have a invisible marks or indentation on paragraphs
