Hello everyone.

Has anyone worked with PivotTables. I am in excel and importing the database tables that I need for my PivotTables. Everything now is loading up great. What I am noticing is that where there would be text, it is showing me numbers. Example of a part number:

2427050-A RH Front Western

it is showing me number instead, not sure where this number is coming from either. The first time I ran this, it worked, where I was seeing exactly what was in my database tables.

I noticed when I go from access and export it to excel I get everything I want, but this way only lets me take one access table, and it would not update automatically. Unless someone knows how to make it work this way.

Is this an easy fix???

is it possible to just do the pivot in Access? (crosstab query in access)

when you do this excel pivot, how does it get the data?
is it exported from Access to excel , then you run pivot?
or do you do a data connection to pull data into excel?

Hi again Ranman256

I was going to excel and doing an import from access. The reason was because I wanted to use more than one table, and to make it automatically update. This way I would have the people receive the excel and not tamper with the access database.

Is there a way to create more than one pivottable through access and then have them able to be sent to the people who need them, without tampering with the database, and it would be updated automatically. I have not tried this way.

Again thank you again.

Hey, Ranman256

I tried to play with the pivotTable in access and it wants to do the same. It converts it to a number.
