I haven't downloaded but I'm guessing you have either:

a) no records in the recordset assigned to the form; or

b) not assigned the controlsource to fields in your underlying recordset.

shouldn't my labels at least show up?

the main prob

it is supposed to be a search by form ...form...

anyway, so it has it's elements controlsource set to unknown

thus the predicment *sp

you can't do a search by form if nothing shows up on the form!,

Post an Access '97 version...

i only have the option of 2000 and 2002

Your problem is the recordsource that you used won't let anything show up until there is data.

But, that's not the worst of it. Your joins are wrong within your relationships. If you MUST have data in all three tables for a volunteer, then your joins are fine. But, if ANY of the tables can have no information for a volunteer, then you need to change your Join type to that table.

Currently, things are set for "Only include rows where the joined fields from both fields are equal."

You want "Include All rows from Volunteer Info 2 and only those rows records from xxxtable where the joined fields are equal."

suggestions on such?

exact code?

Okay, I modified your joins and added some code to make the combo boxes update to the correct information if you pick something out of the list on any one of them.

Take a look and see if that helps.

well and great

BUT when i xfer the form to my original DB it still displays nothing, that was just a part of the whole picture.

I am wondering what else you changed to make it viewable?

You need to change all of your relationship joins. They need to be changed to Show all of Volunteer2 and only those records that match YourOtherTableName(s).

You need to go look at the select statements behind your combo boxes, and check out the code for the combo boxes.

But the display issue is a relationship thing. And, if you have no records, it will not display either. That's why I put in sample data to work with.

great, thankyou!

I am also wondering if there is a way to reset the auto Number for table info2?

You can compact to do so, but just know this: Autonumber just provides a unique number. It isn't going to give you an unbroken sequence of numbers. If you start to add a record and undo, the autonumber it assigned is gone. If you delete a record, the autonumber is gone.

If you want a truly sequential numbering system with no breaks, then you're going to need to assign it yourself by figuring out what the current maximum number is and incrementing by 1.
