I enter data in A1 and in B1 I have the following formula =ifA1=””,””,IF(B1=””,NOW(),B1)) which automatically populates today’s date in B1. This is great. However, this may sound odd, how can I make the time stamp be yesterday's date in B1 when I enter data in A1 today. The reason for is that the data I enter today is yesterday’s data.

Howdy, and welcome to the board.

Change the NOW() to NOW()-1

Thank you.

Great info, thanks but when I use that formula, I get circular reference errors.

Which is what I would expect, the original formula made no sense whatsoever, If(b1="" ?? there is a formula in B1 :confused:

I tried again to get this to work but it is inconsistent. If you enter in a1 it fills b1 fine but then when you enter in a2, b1 disappears, and other oddities show as you go down the sheet.
What values did you put for iteration in options?

edit went back to post 1 and see that you are not filling the columns, guess I should read the posts thoroughly. I take it you realise the cell will be updated everytime the sheet recalculates.
