Which event triggers on entering data into a subform field ? 'On Enter' ?

I don't know if the link by Spike comes up with anything for you but it didn't for me. So, just a brief statement -

On Enter has nothing to do with data. It is when you arrive at a form or control. It is related to Got Focus and I'm not real clear on why the two exist as separate, so even after all of these years I still learn things too.

the main events you want are probably these

the control's BEFORE UPDATE event

- just before you leave the control. in this event you could check whether the entry makes sense. in not, you CANCEL the event, which forces the user to re-enter

the control's AFTER UPDATE event
- after you leave the control. in this event you can address any issues that result as a result of selecting the particular field, or value
