Hi all,

As you can see from the title, I have lost my installation disk. :o I'm afraid I know the answer to this question, but is there any remedy, other than repurchasing the software? Obviously I didn't make a backup. :o :o

Thanks for responding vbaInet!
To quote myself "is there any remedy, other than repurchasing the software?"

I still don't understand, remedy for what exactly? You've not stated what for.

Thanks for replying, AccessBlaster!
I'm not sure how old the laptop is, since it was donated to me. I think it is probably more than five years old. But, it was obviously manufactured after the bios date of 09/05/2007. The hard drive was formatted and the operating system (Win7) was installed on 09/23/2013.

Thanks for replying again, AccessBlaster!
I'm sorry, it is a:
Model nc6400 Notebook PC
S/N MXL7110RCX

Hi, AccessBlaster! Thanks for responding!
I don't have the original restore disk or the Win7 and Office 2013 installation disks. I am worried that something will happen and I won't be able to re-install either. I also occasionally run into situations that require one of the installation disks to install an add-in or driver, etc.

Are you looking to restore you laptop to factory setting? Or are you just worried that you may not be able to with the restore disks?
This is the sort of response I was expecting. By saying "I've lost my installation disk" or saying "remedy besides repurchasing the software" and not stating your intent doesn't mean anything to us. Your intent could be a re-install, a backup of the installation, a fix of the install, etc. The disk can be used for not just an installation.

Most of the time Office 2013 is validated/verified online so you should be able to get a replacement disk or a backup disc from Microsoft for a fee. Or there are software that allow you to take a mirror image of Office.

To be honest, this is more of an Office question than an Access specific question. You'll get a more direct answer if you post in a relevant Windows forum.

Hmm, as long as you have valid Product Keys you can go to the Microsoft site and then the appropriate sections and download for free... again, valid Product Key required. Once downloaded I will suggest you then off load those files for safe keeping.

I realize this question was a little off topic and not posed very well. So, I really appreciate your taking the time to respond. Your information gives me a good starting place to deal with my problem. Many thanks!

Hopefully OBBurton can find the casing where the key normally can be found. :D

In older versions there used to be a way to retrieve the product key. I'm not sure if you still can. Possibly something to look into.
