Hi, I'm learning to custom a watermark but I'm curious can this be only create in left/right hand side, not whole sheet in landscape orientation?
(I want to fold a A4 size paper after done, so i want the watermark only in left/right)

thanks so much for the help.

Hi. Welcome to AWF! I don't know the answer to your question; but if it's not possible, maybe you can create an image where the right half is empty, and your image is only on the left side. Just a thought...

Hi. Did you make sure the image size is the same as A4 paper?

i'm sorry, are you talking the size checking from the file properties?
(they are different, 1622x1872 393kb or 720x1232 340kb.)
i do want to adjust all of them to be same

I used a watermark to ID a report version as not being suitable for submission (faxing). Is your watermark to be text?
- Create Word Art in Word doc. This will allow you to user outlined font instead of solid; set strength of colour to something very light.
- make pic of suitable format from that.
- place image control on your report on left side and set picture property to that of your watermark pic file
- play with image size mode property (clip, zoom, stretch) to see which is best

You can also choose to show or hide the watermark using code.

your post is in the word forum so suggest take a look at this link

it works for me - centred on the document

Sorry - misread your post - thought you wanted it centred, not to left or right. Think you will need to go with DBG's suggestion in post #2

One thought is to edit your picture for that washed out effect (if that is what you want) then insert as an image and set the position to 'behind text' - but you'll have to do for each page unless you put in header or footer.

for washout, this link is helpful for 2003 and 2007, but in 2010 choose color>Recolor>washout (middle of top row)

I've not tried it, but another thought if this is to be a booklet is to set it up as such Page Layout>Margins>Custom margins and set multiple pages to bookfold. You'll need to set pages size to A5 first and no idea how that will work for page order, you'll have to experiment

I find placing images in Word to be a PITA but it is doable as CJ_London says. Maybe upload a document that has your watermark image in it if you're really stuck?

pic 1 / pic 2
i used pic 1 to test(word, page layout, watermark, custom watermark, picture watermark, select picture), after that i changed the orientation to landscape.
as i said, i want it to be left/right instead of center.

in addition, how can i change all of my picture to be same size, thus i can place left/right if everything figure out?

THANKS SO MUCH

Get one picture the way you want it, then copy/paste

did you look at my other suggestion about booklet?

Other thoughts for you to investigate - print to pdf, then set print to A5?

I must not be understanding the requirement as either of these 2 examples was just too easy.

imagine this and no right hand side watermark
Not sure I get what that means either. You mean you want only one image showing the rabbit and stuff on the left side like this?

it's not a solution, its a suggestion. You have a requirement for watermark positioning. If you set your papersize to A5 with a watermark

if your printer has the facility highlighted below perhaps you don't need a pdf
