Are Muslims and the Quran a threat to our society?

Don't shoot me, it's just an observation: ;)

“There is no question whatsoever that Saddam is seeking and is working and is advancing towards the development of nuclear weapons no question whatsoever.”
Benjamin Netanyahu, 2002 congressional testimony

Except that the Iranians confess to that being their intention. Also let us not forget their absolute intention on using the bomb to destroy Israel and us if they live that long.

My support for Israel is 100%, my support for Benjamin Netanyahu is questionable.

There is something about him personally that I like. But, I agree, he is not above lying to advance his agenda. Does that make him evil or a champion for Israel?

I don't know what culture he is from but he definitely has different cultural values!

I think the reason that people from different cultures are allowed to enter the country illegally and are given free accommodation, healthcare and support might be because they could be persuaded to vote the Labour government back in!

I like the idea of supporting Israel, but the idea of doing so blindly, i.e., a person continues to live out the mantra absolutely no matter what they do, is concerning. An honest person, I feel, will have the guts to say "I support their peace/prosperity, but ____that's wrong".

No country is perfect, therefore no country "does no wrong".
Therefore, if you meet people who can't name anything Israel has ever done that is wrong, you know they're the "blind supporters" and not rational at all - because every country is imperfect.

@Isaac, your comment about "can't name anything Israel has ever done that is wrong" and change it to "can't name anything Trump has ever done that is right" ... you have just exactly defined a symptom of Trump Derangement Syndrome. BUT you may have left out a facet for consideration.

I am absolutely certain that Israel HAS made more than a few mistakes. But if you don't ask the question, "What was the provocation" then you cannot fairly balance the question of right vs. wrong. Nothing is done in a vacuum. What was the context?

Honey, the religion of peace is at it again.

Iranian Shiite Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi, 98, issued a fatwa calling on Muslims worldwide to assassinate President Donald Trump, as well as Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Fanatics will fight until they die. Iranians with means left in 1979. Many came to the US and settled in LA (and around the country). The people who couldn't leave hunkered down and tried to stay out of the clutches of the fanatical Mullahs. That was 40 years ago and so those who stayed are probably too old to form a revolution to overthrow the Mullahs. What happens next depends on what those moderate, Iranians taught their children about freedom. The Shah's son may be ready to come back to lead an uprising. That is what we have to hope for because as long as the Mullahs are in power, Iran is dangerous to us all.

If either person dies because of a Muslim assassin and that person can be traced back to an Iranian sponsor, I suspect there will be Hell to pay that makes all previous attacks look relatively mild.

That's good enough - that's it, that's all I was looking for. The ability to say that out loud shows that you do not have IsraelCanDoNoWrong syndrome - works for me

I was watching TV yesterday and they were talking about a certain small town in Syria where most of the christian churches have been bombed out of existence and/or the christians chased/persecuted out of the city. There is one guy there who is determined to try to rebuild and create a resurgence of the Christian community. I thought to myself. Wow. That guy is brave - and I wondered if I could be that brave ever!

You should also wonder why you are just hearing about this persecution. Islam, the so called religion of "peace" has persecuted Christians and Jews to near extinction in all countries they control. Statistics available on line should you care to look. But you don't seem to know about any of that. I had some long talks with a Coptic Christian I used to work with who's family ended up fleeing Egypt. The Egyptians are not even crazy like a lot of the other Arab states.

Lebanon was a flourishing Christian country prior to its takeover by Palestinian refugees.
Afghanistan was Buddhist.
Israel was a desert before the Jews started moving back in large numbers. The people were nomads with herds of goats living in the 10th century.

All the countries of the Middle East had large Christian and Jewish populations living in peace with the Arabs at the time of WWI. Now, they have practically none. Islam has persecuted other religious groups to oblivion. Somehow their hatred and persecution of people who are different hasn't improved their countries in any way. They are mostly poor and backward. I guess that is what hatred does to you.

I'm not, I've heard about it since I was 5 yr old

I have no idea where this came from or what we are even talking about at this po int

We have been talking about the unrelenting persecution of Jews (we won't even talk about their persecution of Christians) by Islamic countries. You keep insisting that Israel is the one who needs to stand down. The evil of anti-Semitism has infected this country and it is time we put a stop to it.

Syrian forces massacred 1,500 Alawites. The chain of command led to Damascus.

This happened in March 2025. I just learned about it. There are several critical lessons resulting from this.
  • A hard truth, Muslims (Sunni fighters) massacring Muslims (Alawites) is simply not news. However, when Israel kills one person is Gaza the world goes berserk asserting that Israel is guilty of genocidal war crimes. In today's world order Muslims killing Jews, Christians, and in this instance Alawites is simply not news. To repeat approximately 1,500 people were massacred with virtually no news coverage or worldwide outrage.
  • The world celebrated the fall of the Assad regime for its supposed genocide of Syrians. With this massacre, the question now becomes: "Is the new boss better than the old boss?"
