Solved Resurrecting old threads?

Another Xenforo site has this come up when you view a thread.
I would have to say 15 days is not too long, but could this site show something similar?

That would perhaps stop people posting on old threads with their problem.?

Is resurrecting old threads a bad thing? Especially if the poster has intelligently found a follow-up question to the exact subject matter at hand?
I know from a website-owner perspective, "more threads is better", thus 'start a new one',

But from a knowledge/expert perspective, what's bad about resurrecting old threads.

Well until you have posted, how is the system meant to know which you are?
Even then, I do not think AI could help in that regard.

At the end of the day, it is just an informative message, whether you are going to ask a question on that thread or offer a solution.

When you don't notice the date and read through a few pages only to find that its a 10 year old thread.

It's always an interesting moment for me when I look at super old threads - a reminder of how very late I joined this strange, wonderful, sometimes dysfunctional but always interesting Family of sorts

Honestly if they are committing thread necromancy, it would be far more fun to have icons appear to let them know. Say Marty Feldman for recently dead threads to an old Voodoo priest in a top hat and skull face for old threads. Ancient threads would just get a picture of Chicago's Mayor Daley with a small sign saying "Congratulations, this thread has just voted!".

I have no issues with comments on old threads. But if the thread is say over 5 years old, there is often a whiff of spam about it.

How about showing an RIP icon next to a poster's name/handle that has passed away? I have seen recent posts directed at dead Access Gurus, like Ken Getz, David W Fenton, and other departed.

I imagine several departed would not be updated, but the well known would. When we see members who have not posted anything in years, how do we know if they're still alive, or just inactive?
