Hello I have a question for you Tea drinkers.

I am a coffee drinker but I only drink it in the morning.
During the winter months I would like to drink something hot but don't like coffee in the afternoon.
I have tried some kinds of tea but I find it too weak for my taste.
So my question is this, what kind of tea do you drink and is it a full flavor kind.
I know a lot of people around the world drink tea and was wondering if it is weak or strong.

Thanks

Check out some Korean beverages - spent a short time there and you get get all sorts of teas & coffees (garlic, ginseng, chilli). Unfortunately, tea and coffee flavoured did not appear to be available choices!

You could always leave the tea bag in a little longer.

depeds on your brand of tea

I have PG tips - pretty good , a stronger tea would be yorkshire tea, or red leaf
then theres red bush (an ozzie tea, made from trees )

I do leave it in a bit longer and I do squeeze it.

I am thinking that I can't buy stouter tea in my local stores.
Name some brands and I will look for those.

Thanks

GaryPanic I will look for those, thanks.

Try Earl Gray and stuff the tea bags, the correct way to make tea is in a pot poured through a tea strainer.

Dare I suggest, pour in less water?

I drink peppermint tea, very good for the digestion, and chamomile when feeling stressed.

:confused::confused:

I cannot believe that a thread on how to make Tea stronger has got to 10 posts!!
I thought IT professionals were supposed to be logical thinkers.

Brian

Also the water must be absolutely scalding hot and not like the fast food places with their pee warm thin yellowy dishwater they have nerve to call McTea

Actually just off the boil after warming the pot with said previously boiled water:cool:

They are Brian. But, do you know any IT professionals that actually drink tea?

I don't drink any of it. I don't drink coffee either, and boy that doesn't go over well with everyone else in the office that are on highs!

Rich:
While your instructions for making tea are correct, try finding loose tea on this side of the pond.

instructions for making tea.

1 get freshly drawn water (1 gallon)
2 pour boiling water over 1oz of tea leaves
brew for x time dependig on the strenght requirments

now thats proper tea...

Hot Tea!?!?
You can drink it HOT?
Who would have known!

Maté comes from South America (Argentina and Uruguay) and typically has quite a kick to it. In the US the labels read "Yerba Maté." I've also grogged down some very strong chai tea. But some black tea has made my eyes bulge.

Keep trying. Strong tea is out there.

LOL, you would seriously be surprised. In the Northern states, you cannot even buy ice tea at most restaurants, only hot tea. If you asked for sweet tea or iced tea, they look at you funny. For the few who know what you are talking about, they will know instantly you are from the South.

aje you must remember the british empire was built on cups of tea and then we gave it all back ;)

and for a stronger tea have it black shove 2 bags in their & dare i say that if this is not strong enough then have you got potential caffeine problems? an alternate is to inject redbull if so but i would not recommend its all abit chavy'. You could just go into Waitrose or any supermarket and have a perouse their is usally at least half an aisle for tea.

cant beat a good cup of charlie imo.

you could make you tea with rebull instead of water ??
however you will have to peel yourself of the ceiling ....

I'm guessing VoidCranium is in the USA so probably can only get the powdered gnat's piss known as Liptons teabags. Apparently due to the exchange rates and the fact that more Americans are drinking tea nowadays our tea companies are on an export drive. See if you can get hold of Tetley's or PG Tips or Yorkshire Tea. Alternatively depending upon climate you could cultivate your own tea plant Camellia Sinensis and pick your own!:D
