Hi All

having trawled through many, many threads on here to find what I am looking for and not finding it, I am looking for help again.

I have four fields on my form that are supposed to show up as a % however when entering a number i.e. 23 the box is formatted as 2300.00%

I cannot see a way round this - the box is not using a calculation it will just be hard keyed into the form.

Can anyone help?

Thanks

Sarah

That's the way that the percentage format works in MS Office. If you have a value of 0.5 in a percentage field then it will display correctly as 50%. All you need to do is divide your values by 100 before you display them then it will display as you want.

Alternatively just output the number with a % character after the value.

sarah, to enter a number as 23% you either need to enter

0.23

or explicitly 23%

but access will store 0.23, which is what a percentage is
------

the other way is NOT to store it as a percent, just as a long, or a double - so then you can enter 23 or 23.5 but then when you use it, you will need to divide by 100

--------
main thing is, be consistent, and go for the option which suits you and your users best

Isn't that what I told her:confused:
