Sorry Ken - It wont happen again. I mean that - just as you do.I missed whether you designed the house or not - and then you have to get an architect in do you?

We bought some books with plans and picked the one we liked best and ordered something like 5 sets. Then we gave the general contractor all but one set to build with.

What was the book called? Was it from Costco? What would it cost me to buy it at market rate- the house that is not the book? Are you anywhere near Augusta?

Barry, thanks for the show. It was a pleasure to watch, you guys are really good. Typical Midlands, seem to produce amazing talent!

You're very kind, I really appreciate the comments from everyone. We really enjoy playing together and I think that comes across at our gigs. By the way the lovely Shelley is an adopted scouser who was born in Belfast - she may not want to be called a Midlander but we'll have her as an honorary one!

Hum... The books probably came from Borders and maybe Lowes -? Don't really remeber where we got them. I can send you the couple of plan books if you really want them as I doubt we'll need them any more :)

Hum... I'm a hundred miles or so west of Augusta, You play golf ;)

Hum the house by itself was just over 200k, add the 3 acres on a corner lot and it's probably worth a little over 3...

I see if I can find anything like that by me. Looks like you got a bargain.

Don't normally visit this section, however for the benefit of others that do this is to let you know that PaulDohert has been banned for one month for inappropriate and offensive language. This is the second time he has been banned for this behaviour.

David

I missed that - where is this alleged offensive language?

If this is true, why is Paul banned when others here can use foul language without being banned?

If it escapes notice by the mods/admin then of course they wouldn't. If the mods/admins notice it then they will likely take action. Just like when you get a speeding ticket. If you speed and no cop sees you doing it, you aren't going to get a ticket, but you engage in that behavior for too long then the likelihood goes up that you would get caught.

Yes and after the abuse of power here by a former mod I thought it was only admin that had the power to carry out such acts:confused:

Which gives me something like 100 K for 3 acres. That's approx. 70K € for
some 12.000 m2. Last year we bought 12.200 m2 next to our house for some 18.000 €. Looks like the land in France is cheaper than in Georgia

Here's a pic of that property :

I'll bet Ken was involved. And if so I'll bet Ken isn't banned.

Honestly Col, You're beginning to sound like a little school girl...

Edit: If you want to beat me up start a 'Bash Ken' thread and let this thread get back to Joe's original topic.

I could be way off on the value, it was just a number that popped into my head. Probably closer to something like $60K. I was thinking with the house it could have gone up in value considerably...

I'm guessing it depends on the location, size and lay of land that determines the price most anywhere. If you bought a large enough piece in south Georgia you might be able it as little as five hundred dollars per acre...

Just stop it now Ken! Enough already! :p It would cost that for a window box over here

Agree with you there and also the price I cited is for agriculuture purposes, i.e no permit for house building. If it's an CU terrain ( permit for construction), you're closer to some €15/m2, which equals approx. $82K/acre.
