Hi,

This should be an easy one but I can't figure it out. I have both Office 2003 and 2007 on my machine. There is not problem in calling up either version of either Excel or Word but if I call for Access 2003 after using 2007 the Installer runs and similarly if I call for 2007 after running 2003. Is there any way of preventing this? I want to keep 2003 while I familiarize myself with 2007.

Any help would be appreciated.

I have the exact problem with my machine, and I've always ignored it. I assume that because Access more complicated files (dll's?) to load for the difference between the versions, configurations need to take place. That's the only thing I can assume, because other than the ribbon, Access is one of the programs in 2007 that was changed dramatically. I don't have an answer, but I know exactly what you're talking about.

As a side note to this, if you run VBA code within access and reference other programs like Excel, make sure you have the correct libraries in your references, otherwise you'll be mixing 03 programs with 07 programs, and that's something you won't want.

no, thats the way it works

it is irritating, but it does allow you to have multiple systems

Thank you all for the very prompt replies. About all I can say is "I was afraid of that!!"

Adam - thanks for tip on VBA. I had not thought of that.

Brian
