This fascinating world if full of wonders and things I just can’t explain, like:

Why do salt sachets hold more salt than the pepper sachets hold pepper?

Why do we need a crisp packet that is four times bigger than the amount of crisps it contains?

Why when your looking for somthing, it always turns up in the first place you looked?

Why does it always rain at the weekend??

If you drop buttered bread why does it always land butter side down?

There might be a scientific explanation for that one - I read something somewhere suggesting some sort of loose coupling between weekly patterns of traffic pollution and precipitation.

Somebody always has to offer a scientific explanation for something that sounds so much better as a mystery. :D

You're right, bet some idiot has a scientific explanation for why the tyres on your car always go flat on the bottom first :D

Why do restaurants offer bottomless cups of coffee but not tea?

Sorry I like science and trivia so:

Period of rotation - the majority of dropped bread or toast happens from a table or work surface which usually is the correct height for 180 degree rotation. The weight of the butter may also be a minor factor. If you try it with small biscuit it will probably do a full 360 degree rotation.

Why not drop the bread then butter it ? :p

Admit it, you watch Myth Busters don't yo :p

Actually, there's a good reason not to butter the bread after it's fallen, it's already strapped to the cat. Buttered bread on the back of a cat (cat always falls on its feet) you get a hovering effect, best way I know of to get the broomstick to take off :D

Why are paving stones separated at the exact width of a stilleto heel?

Is that why witches have familiars?

I have always been curious as to why we DRIVE on a Parkway, while we PARK in a Driveway.

I was always taught that the chances of it landing buttered side down is directly related to the cost of the carpet. :D

Why do we still call a vacuum a Hoover? Even people who won't pass Dyson refer to it as a Hoover...

Why do fingers have three philanges and thumbs only two, the intermediate one being missing.

Given that a cat always lands on it's feet when dropped. What would happen if you strapped a slice of buttered toast to a cat's back and dropped the combo

Oh, there's an excellent idea John :) I could stick my broomstick between the two and it would flyyyyyy ;)
