A heck of a coincidence

A metorite explodes over Russia (injuring hundreds) on the SAME DAY that an office building sized asteroid narrowly misses the earth?
And these events are unconnected?

That is one HELL of a coincidence.
This is on the order of:
ANOTHER legless South African olympic track star is charged with murdering his girlfriend on the same day as Pistorius.

That is not much of a coincidence, there would have been millions of men waking up legless on Valentines day and shooting all over their Girlfriends faces whilst imagining them to be somebody else...

Asteroids hit Earth all the time. This one happens to be a bit larger and have impacted a relatively populated area. Big deal. It happens. No one died.

It was the largest meteor strike in over a century, and although nobody died, more than 1000 were injured (reports vary).
This was on the same day that another, much larger meteor passed inside the orbits of communication satellites which is very close.
So I think it is indeed a remarkable coincidence. Neither of these events have happened before in my lifetime, and then they both happened on the same day.
