I have developed quite a few Access 2000 applications for clients and continue to maintain and update these applications. I am starting a new position with a client using Access 2003 at the client's location. I would like to upgrade to 2003 but I still need to service my 2000 clients. Can I install and run both versions of Access or can I still maintain the 2000 apps under 2003? Help!

Wayne,

I just started running Access 2007 and I have 2002-2003 .mdb file versions AND .accdb (2007 ext.) for every database on my system. I don't know what other help is out there, but this is my temporary fix. I am saving my updates in the appropriate extension and overwriting the previous files. I don't think this is the best way to do it, but it was a quick fix for me....:)

I have installed Access 2000, 2003, and 2007 on my home computer and I usually work in Access 2000 compatibility mode for all of them. That way I can run an A2K db in A2K3 or A2K7 and then give it to someone with A2K and they can run it. The one thing about that is that you can't take advantage of some of the newer events, code, or objects that might be available in the later version. But, if you have to run something for someone on A2K and A2K3, I would just work in A2K compatibility mode and then there should be no problem.

Bob,

there is an option in a2k7 for compatibility with .pdf and .xps

can I run in this mode with this version of access I wonder??
My default file ext. is 02-03 .mdb
