I run Access 2002 on Windows 2000 Pro. This is painful but I have spent quite sometime figuring this Report and every time I saved Access asked me to confirm the name. When I closed the report to open it again, I got this rude message "Microsoft Jet Database engine could not find the object 'Summary'. Make sure the object exists and that you spell its name and path correctly" and I totally cannot open it. After fiddling with it for a while, I thought my access has gone corrupt so I reinstalled it but this still did not help, I started afresh and I still cannot save the report. What could be the problem and how can this be fixed. I suspect the database engine could be having a problem but no idea what to check. I have contemplated taking the db back to Access 2000 but I doubt if that will help me and if my databases will still be usable and be compatible with all the features of Access 2002.

What is 'Summary'?

Is it an Access Table? Query?

Is it a Linked Excel SpreadSheet? Has it been moved or does it still exist in the path it was linked to?

'Summary' is a report. Its not bound to a query. Everything is intact, nothing moved.

Have you tried renaming the "Summary" report to "rptSummary" or something else?
