As I begin the process of converting my old databases to 2007 in order to take advantage of some of the new features, I became curious about what happens when a workstation has a full-version of Access 2003 installed, but also needs the 2007 Runtime in order to run my application? Can both programs be utilized at a single workstation?

Thanks in advance

Yes, you can install both. However, make sure that you have the service pack 1 installed for the runtime, otherwise it takes a long time to open one after the other has been opened up. There is still some lag time as the registry needs to have some keys written to it so you'll get the "installation" routine each time you switch between versions.

Also, if you are on Vista, you would need to do this:

Thanks Bob, I very much appreciate your help, your response was very informative.

I've used 2003 and 2007 together at the same time with no ill effects that I've noticed, but that was on accident. I wouldn't suggest running them at the exact same time, but running them both on the same machine, but one at a time, is a different story.
