Question access 2007 does not close

I'm developing my first large Access 2007 application using a front-end database for code and forms with an encrypted back-end database for data (both Access 2007 and both on the same machine). I have an intermittent problem at design time in that sometimes when I close my application front end, the Access 2007 shell remains open and will not close completely without being forced by task manager.

This behaviour does not seem to be related to my code or database design since it comes and goes seemingly at random between trivial advances in code or application objects.

Has anybody else encountered this behaviour? Any ideas about what might be going on? I'm running XP Pro SP3 and my system is otherwise stable and clean.

Have you tried repairing the installation this can sometimes clear up "odd" behaviour.

Repaired the application several times with no impact on the intermittent problem.
