Access 2007

[Dynamite]

Hi, I have downloaded the access 2007 trial. Installed and registered it with the trial code. However when I try to install any of the free sample dbs from MS including the northwind db, Access crashes!! I was going to purchase the full version of office, but wanted to test access first. If anyone knows a solution, or can email the northwind 2007 db it would be appreciated.

I just purchased the full version of office pro 2007, I am still getting this error. Anyone else having this problem?

I installed and am running Access 2007, and the only issue I had was I couldn't import a couple forms, and one report. Probably something with old coding that I never cleaned up.

Some things I don't like with it. It seems to run slower, actually the entire office 07 suite seems to run slower, and I'm not sold on the new menu system they have. I got used to the old menus, of course I'd been using them dating back to Office 95.

I don't personally see the point of having rich text in tables and queries. Then again, with my database the only time I ever see tables and queries is when I'm modifying the design of them. Everything that is viewed has a form, subform, or report for that table or query.

To have this resolves a lot of issuse - i can have a complete record of everything all in one d/b rather than having to rely on word and some muppet filing it incorrectly

where is the sample database? it seems not under help again. I can try it for you.

By the way, I think the rich text is fine for me.

Thanks for the replies, I have installed a fresh copy of XP and office 07 on a spare computer, and I'm still getting the same problem...

I can download the template ok, but when it installs it gets to about 15% then crashes.. Maybe there will be a fix in SP1? Or, I can buy Vista?

Strange happenings as I can access the Northwind database just fine. See this post here to see:

Best thing so far about access 07 is you can embed images and alternate background colours on continuous forms, scrollwheel has been disabled on normal forms!

The new northwind looks great hence the reason I'm so frustrated... Also I need to create an order manager for work.
