Hi All

We are in the process of upgrading from Access 97 to Access 2010

The database admins have a full copy of 2010 and the general users will have a copy of the Access 2010 runtime installed.

The issue is that when a database is opened in the runtime, the ribbon disappears, this is preventing people from exporting datasheet views to excel etc.

How do I resolve this?

Thanks

Hawk

You need to create your own Ribbon Menus that provide the functionality that you required when using accde type files.

There is a process required and writing VBA is required to implement the custom ribbons.

While it is possible to create these custom ribbon menus using a simple text editor, there are other tools available that make the process somewhat simpler. Personally I use one called MontaRibbons (http://www.ribbon01.com/) and have found it to be a very good tool.
