Hi, I have a range of databases running throughout the business that have been in use for a few years. There are mainly Access 2007 .accdb format. None are split front end / back end types.

We have been using XP and some W7 PC's and everthing has been ok however we are now starting to move users onto W8 PC's and and I have started to get problems.

The main error appears to be that the "network connection is lost". (Note we are using a wired network and not WiFi in most cases) The only solution is to shut down and restart the database. Luckily for me this is not corrupting the DB.s. Those users still on XP are not experiencing problems.

Does anyone have any suggestions?

As the technology improves, the tolerance for poor design reduces.

So could be due to your db's not being split. Suggest try splitting one of your db's properly (each user has their own front end) and monitor the effect.

could be your win8 machines have an incorrect network setting

could be due to the access version on the Win8 machines being different to the XP/win7 machines (e.g. installed SP upgrades, 64bit version of Access, etc)

Hi Thank you. I will have a look at teh splitting process

Regards
Kevin
