Access Developer Extensions

Hello,

I have an Access application I need to package for redistribution. Following the instructions on MSDN, I purchased Visual Studio Tools for Office 2003 to acquire the Access Developer Extensions which include the Package Wizard.

After installing VSTO, I found that Access Developer Extensions are not included. Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy of Access Developer Extensions? Is the Package Wizard available for download anywhere? Perhaps someone with an MSDN subscription would be nice enough to make this available to me?

Are any instructions availalbe for creating an installation file for an Access MDE file and including the Access Runtime?

Are you sure that you bought the Visual Studio 2005 Professional Editions [developers extensions package for Office 2003]. It costs $800 US dollars.

It contains quite a few installation CD's and you need to follow the instructions to install all of the programs [including the developers extensions package for Office 2003].

It is $199 if you are upgrading and $499 if you are not. If you are elegible for the student price (you need to do more searching), it is around $110.

This product comes with vb.net basic in the box so you don't need to buy a full version of VS unless you want to.

If you installed the product correctly, you should see the package wizard if you open the VBA window. Look under tools. I don't have it on my laptop where I am currently so I can't tell you exactly where it is.

Search the MSDN and KB for articles and documentation since NONE comes in the box!

My Package Wizard [2003 version] shortcut was installed @

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Microsoft Office 2003\Microsoft Office Access 2003 Developer Extensions\Package Wizard

Apparently it was missing the CD for ADE.

The Packaging and Deployment wizard isn't freeware. Microsoft frowns on pirating their software and rightly so.

You don't need to package your application to distribute it. If it is a single .mdb or .mde, you can just copy it to what ever directory you want.
