It might help to show us the code that tries to send the email. That would allow us to examine the process and identify potential issues in it.

I dont use code, its a macro? sorry should have said that 👍🏻Untitled.png

I installed Thunderbird email software and access now sends emails via that fine?
Glad to hear you got it sorted out. Please disregard my previous post. That was a comment before you tried using Thunderbird.

Do you get the same error if you try this?

Application.FollowHyperlink "mailto:emailaddress@gmail.com"
no everything works how it should again with no errors, if i remove it and revert back to outlook then errors start again. Im starting to hate Outlook as cant even get a unified view for multiple accounts but again you can on Thunderbird.

why does this now happen within outlook though as i normally do prefer outlook as been using for years now

Right. I am guessing you have the New Outlook installed, so replacing it with Thunderbird was a good choice.

when i send an email from access i have to bring thunderbird to the front of screen where outlook used to pop to the front. now i have to press alt +tab to bring thunderbird to front to send on

In the short term 2-3 years, you could install classic outlook instead of new outlook. By then, hopefully ms will provide an alternative or other methods provided by others

I noted that two of the "default app" entries do NOT say Outlook Classic. Could be an accident, but... maybe not. It's worth a quick look.

I will ask this question a different way. Never mind what the Default App entries say. What version of Outlook do you have when you scroll through the list of installed apps and reach the Outlook slot? Or launch Outlook stand-alone and when it comes up, follow path File >> Office Account >> About Outlook and see what version you have.

funny you should say that as i used to have unified view until recently - im going to uninstall outlook all together and install classic see if that cures it 👍🏻👍🏻
