Hi guys - A straange one this maybe!!

I seem to of lost sounds in Access

e.g if a msgBox pops up the pc should beep but it doesn't ??

I've checked the code and Beep is there and it used to work but for some reason has stopped! I have tried other programs and for example if an email comes in Outlook the pc plays the usual sound

Does anyone have any suggestions on what this could be please

Many thanks

Paul

Silly question but have muted you speakers by any chance?

hahs lol thanks David not a silly question at all but no they are on full

As I say other programs are 'playing' sounds as normal just seems to be Access - I've opened other DB's as well just to test to see if it was the one I'm working on but none of them beep!

Many thanks

I think there is a settings in Access that you can turn off audiable sounds or errors and the like.

Thanks David,

Actually juast looking at the very same bit in the options area on access - mine is un-checked but I have never been to this bit before so seems very stange I will checked it and see what happens !

hmmmm we ll that did nothing although it seems to be my whole office package as If I created a docuement in word and click close normally you get a beep to ask if you want to save it but I get nothing

I will dig deeper

Are you using an on board or external speaker?
Can you get anything to make a noise?

There is nothing wrong with the sound card It played a sound when the email notification of your message came through and I have just play a tune

I'm lost really as to what it could be - I will try a quick ofice repair just in case !

you get a different "beep" depending on the icon you add (vbinfo, or vbexclamation etc), try one of these - see ifi t does anything.
