Hi all,

I am having trouble trying to add a form to a group. I understand that I need to have exclusive access to the database to do this, but even when I have exclusive access, the form disappears when I close and reopen the database. Any ideas on why this isn't working?

Many thanks,
Kate.

Hi! What is it you mean by a group exactly? Are you trying to add a subform to a form?

Hi,
I am trying to add a form to a group under the heading "groups" on the left side of the screen. There are a lot of queries and forms in this database, and I am trying to put them all in a group, so that I can access them by clicking on the group and see all of the queries, forms and tables that relate to this project. The group has already been made and has some other forms and queries in it (someone else created it). I am clicking and dragging the form from the "forms" area and dragging it to the group. It is then in the group, but does not stay there after restarting access. I hope that makes sense!

Cheers,
Kate.

When you click the tab that drops down and shows a bunc of categories, under "Navigate To Category", is CUSTOM ticked? And below that are you FILTERING by the group?

I am not sure where these options are? Are they in access 2007? I should have mentioned I'm using Access 2003...

Ah alright. I can't remember what the navigation options are on 2003. I will have a look when I turn another machine on later.

Just fired up my machine running 2003 and I see what you mean. How about creating a new group, then instead of dragging and dropping right-click on the object and select Add To Group.

If that doesn't working, try creating a new database shell and import all your objects into that and then repeat the process above or drag and drop.

Thanks,
I'll try it when I can get exclusive access again (might be awhile!!!)

Just tell the users to leave early :)

Let us know how you get on.
