adding discrete values to a database

Hi all,
can i use a listbox control NOT IN A PROGRAMATICALY way, in a table to allow user choose one of some pre_defined values (for example 1,2,4). This field will be used as a parameter in an communication with HW, that's why its crucial not to let users choose whatever value that they want.

Look at the design of your table.
Look at the 'Lookup' tab at the bottom left of your screen (next to the General tab).

Display Control: List Box
Row Source Type: Value List
Row Source: 1;2;4;etc;etc

I already tried what you proposed, but i didnt get what i was expecting:
while adding the rows to the table in datasheet mode, when i click on the listbox, the values show on the same line without beeing able to choose any one of them, can you please advise ?

Make sure you have the column count set at 1.

You do realize that just because you provide a list box unless you also have validation rules on your table the user will be able to type a value into the field and it will accept it.
