Hello Rafiq!

Here it is, I think it is OK now.
You have to populate a RECORD SOURCE (form properties),
and CONTROL SOURCE (field properties).
I put unvisible on your command button.
Try to enter data.

MStef, ive had a look at the database you modified but where are the ADD and CLEAR buttons???? :)

is it possible that you can modify it so that i click the add button and it adds it....

same with the clear button........???

Your buttons are there, (visible properties = no). You don't need them, the record will be saved when you go on next record. You don't need the clear button too. Use Undo icon.

MStef has changed your unbound form to a bound form.

MStef... thanks for all your help so far.....

i prefer the form to be unbound.........

it looks much better with an add and clear button.......... fits in well with my current system and i believe its better for usability....

can you modify it to a unbound form with the buttons???

thanks

Why do you prefer an unbound form?

With a bound form, you can have a save button that has as its code:
DoCmd.RunCommand acCmdSaveRecord
And a clear button that has as its code:
Me.Undo

All your validation should be done in the forms BeforeUpdate event.

NEILEG no doubt ur ideas sensible but i still wud prefer to add it with an unbound form!!!! rest of my database is unbound...........

please can someone modify my database????

Neil is saying you can still have the form visually the same with the buttons, but its bound to the table anyway, so aesthetically it looks "right"

OK, Colin can you please help me implement it in my database

MStef has already said the buttons are still there (but hidden) just change the visible propery to yes.
