Hi,

I'm developing a database and, following helpful comments in reply to my previous posts, have realised that I really need to have a working knowledge of VBA if I am to have the control that I want.

I've now read Beginning Access VBA (Wrox) which I found helpful (ok I skimmed lots of it!). I've also realised that I need a reasonable understanding of SQL, so I've started to read/skim Beginning SQL (Wrox). All interesting and enjoyable.

But I actually would like to be able to put small databases onto my websites and I'm completely lost as to which technologies I need to get a handle on. My reading has shown me that Access, VBA and SQL isn't enough... Sigh.

So... should I learn about ASP? Or should I plunge into the .NET stuff? Or what? I have dabbled with ASP, using it to collate information from JavaScript driven forms.

In short, I'd be grateful for any advice about what exactly I need to understand, if I'm going to be able to run databases from my websites? In a reasonably simple to start but relatively future proof kind of a way...

All advice much appreciated.

Wayne
