Always wondered what these meant!

I have alwayus wondered what the following thinsg mean in Access.

They appear in the ADVANCED section of OPTIONS (in the TOOLS menu)

1. DDE Operations
2.Command line arguments
3. OLE /Timeout
4.Refresh Intervals
5. No Of uopdate retries
6. ODBC Refresh

Well, for starters there is the help files to browse with those topics.

DDE is in Help (several topics including Overview)

If you tried Command Line you would find Startup Command Line Options in Help

If you tried Help on Timeout you would see topic Set OLE/DDC Preferences in Help

If you tried Help on Refresh you would topics for DDE and ODBC and that covers a couple of different questions.

This one was harder to find in help. Try "Update Retry Interval" as a help topic.

My best advice is to look up these topics in Help first. It is always available right away and we are not. Now, if you read the explanations and it STILL makes no sense (entirely possible with a Bill Gates product), then come in and ask a more specific question.
